Sherry M. Bennett is a Partner at Kapila & Company, Certified Public Accountants. She originally joined the firm in 1994 and most recently in 2008. In 2004 she accepted a position as CFO with a multi-state insurance brokerage headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 2006 she formed her own firm providing accounting, tax and consulting services.

Professional Experience

Ms. Bennett concentrates on providing financial accounting, tax, insolvency and forensic investigation services to creditors, debtors and Bankruptcy and Liquidating Trustees. She has provided consulting services in distressed real estate matters to Chapter 11 bankruptcy estates, large home builders and lenders. Her experience includes litigation support services to law firms involving measurement of lost profits and damages, embezzlement of funds, asset investigation and tracing, shareholder disputes and employment discrimination. She has consulted with and offered tax-planning strategies to Bankruptcy Trustees, individuals and businesses. She has provided guidance in successful mergers and acquisitions.

Ms. Bennett’s experience in tax and investigative engagements encompasses healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, construction contractors, wholesale distribution, retail, medical practices, restaurants/food related industries and not-for-profit organizations.

Education

Ms. Bennett obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in Accounting. She graduated magna cum laude from The University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee.
